The mapping cost is only half of the apple if you want something seriously fast and reliable it will cost you alot Pete.

      For this consider

      Ignition
      Fuel system
      Turbo
      Manifolds
      Management
      Engine internals
      Oil system
The cars chassis and your own personal saftey

I could easily spend 30K there

        Hey Hank,
Do you know the g/b code for what you mention here?
Any ideas what the drive is like especially on gear change?
I'm asking as I have installed a diesel box on mine and wondering what it might be like. It will be a while before I use it so some sort of idea would be good.

QST built a 428MTM engined one with Nitrous injection a few years back, belonged to a chap up Bolton way. It was in Audi Driver Magazine... Circa 500/550bhp.

I don't know the designation on the tranny but will find out. My wrench, Tufty Jones a UK guy from Wales, was talking to me about this tranny when I picked up my car yesterday. He had just driven it in anger for the first time in a while and couldn't believe how fast 1st gear happens with a CRB and 755hp at the wheels. He wants me to sell the CRB and go with this one for the taller 1st gear. I haven't driven it yet but once the car is up and running I'll let you know.

You probably did -> and then some

Engine's getting there slowly, heads done just the bottom end to finish off, should be good for quite a bit of power.

Anychance you can find this out if you have it mate, interested to read about the nitrous. I've still got a kit laying around and i'd really like to try use it on the urq.

Depends if you want bragging rights down the pub as in "my nob's bigger than yours" or a really quick and fun car to drive. The great thing about a Mihnea mapped RS2 setup is it's really quick but the turbo is still small enough to spool fast and yet not surge. So you get a lovely push in the back every time you floor it.

Yeah i've can get hold of chips for that setup quite easily/quickly so would have nearly everything to rs2 the car.

                            Acidburn,

A chipped RS2 set up to start with, and then after some time driving the car - months, the next step will be more obvious ?

A chipped RS2 engine'd road car is no slouch.

If you are wanting to build the highest horsepower urq in the country its going to have to be some spec! Like James says its not cheap to build an engine that will make 7-800bhp.

nah not wanting to do anything over 600 tbh, i'd expect cars above that to have "interesting" lag unless well specced, just more interested to hear who's got what and how they find it as a drivers car.
