Pete your more than welcome to have a go in mine, 450bhp in a UR makes for a seriously quick road car.

My engine is built for much more than i use but i honestly wouldn't want it to be quicker than it is and certainly not at the cost of reliability. Tubular manifolds for me are a no no.

More power will introduce more lag resulting in what feels like a slower point and squirt car. Jogi (Chris) will tell you all about being to greedy on the power figures...

Agree, 450-500 HP in a 1300kg car should be lot's of fun. Reliability and cost are still doable with that amount of HP.

450 Bhp in mine is what I've been aiming for, and I can't see that that wont be enough for the meantime! Maybe 500 is the magic mark. bear in mind that an Urq can be significantly lighter than an S2 depeding upon trim and spec.

I'm hoping for around the same as what djones kept his weight to but mine will be slightly heavier for s2 running gear, bigger rims and bigger brakes.

Cheers, I might well take you up on that

Yeah aelred said he built it for iirc 700+, reliability is one thing that i'd like to make sure is right, it definately won't have a tubular on it, as much as I like some of the designs I sold both my tubulars a while ago so won't be using them.

Yeah i've spoke with chris a bit about his setups as I was enquiring about one of his turbo's a while back, think that would make a proper monster but as mentioned the lag would be timed on a calender. One thing that would be interesting to know is if an updated turbo would reduce the spool time whilst giving same power.

What power did you get in your old s2 once the engine was sorted?

Anyone know the weight of a urq 15 inch ronal?

My S2 Avant ran around 500HP and was fully loaded (1620 kg). With that weight and HP it was already bloody fast and more then enough for a good blast + still drivable with a very wide power band.

Just get on and build it pete do you really want over 450-500 for a road car? I can't imagine many places where you would need more! As said before you can have bragging rights or a fast road car that's perfectly usable.
