What gearbox for an A6 Avant quattro 2.8 V6?

Were fed up of getting the 5 speed repaired, been done twice, then the clutch went so thats relaced, now the box is not selecting properly and whining in first again

So, can a six speed be fitted?

is it a c4 or c5 john?

you may hane any tranny in.. 5 or 6tr...they does have the same bolt pattern.. remeber the gear/year kode in between the 2 upper boltholes in bellhousing. 4.111 ratio in the rear end, and 3,700 in the front are NO good
