So I could actually be suffering this boost minimisation because of the temperature? Not actually a boost leak?

If your only a couple of psi down on boost, the engine still pulls strongly and smoothly then it may be this. I found out by accident a few weeks ago when it was cold. She was boosting a couple of psi down but after leaving the car idling for about 10 mins whilst washing her, the ambient temp gauge was reading over 20 degs cos of the standing temp around car. When i drove off the boost brielfy full recovered to its normal level.

Well homefry supposed to bit 1.5? Bar and at the mo it hits 1.2 once or twice but usually 1.0 bar and is smooth and strong so does this indicate this temp thing instead of a boost leak?

Have you ever seen 1.5 bar before? 1.2 is a little low but that might be down to the temp comensation.... give it a go tomorrow, leave the car running for a few mins (probably over 10 mins after a good run) untill the ambient temp display shows over 20 then give her a go throught the gears to 3rd n 4th and see if its any higher

I have seen 1.4 bar in it over the summer.

I will see what I can do then and hope it boosts proper

Well that ties in with my earlier post where i said it might be around 0.25 lower than what you see in the summer

You will not lose that much boost from temperature compensation.
Besides, it is very rare for any of these cars to be leak free. Usually people drive around like that since they don't know better

And no, you will never see 1.5 bar boost.

He will, look at the table again....

At 0 degrees (cold at this time of year) its showing 0.25 bar lower max boost than what he would see when its over 20 deg c

In fact maximum boost compensation is around 0.4 bar from very cold to very hot temps

I am not going to bother arguing with you, because you have no idea what you are talking about.
But hey, here is one simple question - if the MAP sensor reads up to 250kpa, how are you going to get 150kpa of boost?

If you have a boost leak, you won't magically have more boost either.

Chill out, whats your problem???? As Newsh says the temp compensation is intact on a homefry... S2Central.net clearly states that the maximum boost compensation can be upto 0.4 bar between very cold and very warm conditions.

If he has this system intact then this might explain why his car is boosting 0.2 bar below what he was seeing in the summer

                            Well, the information is wrong.
The compensation will be as much as you map it to, but on stock it is nowhere near 0.4.

Unlike you, I have spent hours upon hours with my car, a datalogger and an emulator and I know exactly how much the compensation affects it.

Fact is, even if you do not touch the compensation and map the boost to 1.4 bar normally, it won't go below 1.3 bar in cold weather.
1 Bar is almost certainly (99% sure) a boost leak.

If you read the post earlier that Newsh stated, then the homefries keep the ECU temp compensation intact. If this is so then the temperature differences would/could explain the boost differences
