    My Best Buys of 2010

My 3 Best buys of 2010

No 3. 2nd hand coil packs – I got a great sense of achievement fixing my misfire. Many thanks to UrS4Boy for the guide.

No 2. Winter tyres – Enough already said about the benefits

No 1. Door Seal Lube (DuPont Krytox 205 GPL) – I lubed my door seals with this to prevent the doors freezing closed. Why am I rating this above winter tyres? Cos it works and has saved me hours pratting about with warm water or a hairdryer on my drive getting into my car. For years I put up with this though at least I never had the ultimate shame of climbing in through the rear hatch with neighbours watching. Anyone else with this problem should consider it. I have no commercial link to the product.

      3. My Telepeage Transponder for the French Autoroutes, allowing to not need to queue to pay. Even though I made an **** of it at one point (Sorry David! )

      2. Winter tyres which have allowed me to continue driving no matter what the weather, I'd imagine that they'd make a quattro even better too.

      1. My e30 325i Touring. The Audi is complicated and always breaks down, the touring is simple and just keeps plodding on. If I was still using the Audi as a daily, I'd be having to get the bus.

Looks like Christphski needs some door lube on his list...

                      3. Metal cleaner for MAF connections etc. Bye bye boost cut, and hello 1.4bar for the first time ever on the homefry.

                      2. Winter tyres - the car is now the winter daily, first the S2 and now the RS2. Funny, my 'daily hack' Golf TDi was off the road for nearly a month and the Avant filled the gap nicely. It's twice the age and twice as reliable (touch wood)!

                      1. the RS2 - just getting used to the laggier pick-up now and finding my feet with it. Still love the way I think I'm pulling off quick and then notice I have another 0.5bar of boost on-tap.
AUDI - saving Dad's from minivans since 1994
