sounds awesome that you can own a genuine Porsche gt3 RSR with your "old iron" car 20 years older

          This.

I've heard so much cod***** about cornering with quattro - every armchair racer should be forced to read and digest this.

That's a good link. I didn't realise I drove like that, until I read it.
I never really put two and two together, but there are lots of corners that I can almost take flat, but I just have to lift slightly, or left foot brake on turning in. Lauda Linksknick is one of them. I never really thought about the science of it, I just did it. Thanks Mcstiff.

My CQ is a daily driver so a lot of compromises has to be made. All out race suspension isn't to nice on the street

Along these lines, I really need to reset my dual adjustable dampers. Any suggestions other then adjusting the compression first?

how much is the track width important? may we say, that if some car has 1450mm track, and somehow we make it 1550mm, it will be 2 seconds (?) faster? a little bit of OT.

Slightly more explicit than my earlier description but the same advice, if you can get it right then you'll be a lot faster and have more fun! There is a limit to what the stock chassis can achieve without mods though and the almost most important thing for track day preparation are tyre pressures! Often forgotten but very important!

I do a few track days with my S2 but mostly Hillclimbs.
I also have an Evo IX FQ360 which is a very quick daily driver and corners very well.
However my passion lies with the S2 which has far more character IMHO, yes I have spent more on the car and upgrades than what the Evo cost but it still brings a smile to my face like no other.

Starting as a green feilds project, I would say the S2 would be expensive to turn into a track day car and the 350z, Evo and Lotus may more cost effective options. But there is something different about driving a quattro which brings emence joy to the driver
