    Pallet deliveries

    Hello!

I guess a few people on here might have stuck large/heavy items on pallets.
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations/warnings/advice to offer!
    Looking at a 300KG weight.

    Thanks!

Make sure its really well secured, use a strong pallet and a couple of cheap ratchet straps or some rope to hold it on and then shrink wrap on top. We use Eezehaul a lot at work.

Securing the item to the pallet will be the biggest issue. 300Kg isn't much to lift on a pallet really. It's always good if you can make it easy for the driver to strap the pallet to the truck / trailer without damaging your goods. HTH

It does seem that unless you are already set up its going to a right ballache. Obviously sticking it on the pallet is the easy bit. Securing it properly and transporting to somewhere accessable are other issues.
Also seems to be a lot of price differential and size options (1/4, 1/2 & full pallet) which are related to weight and by the look of it height. Would be near impossible to get an accurate weight of the load unless it is published somewhere.

Can I ask what it is. What we have often done is take a wooden pallet and build a box on top of it using some 3/4" plyboard, a fist full of say 40mm screws and some 2" x 1" or 2" x 2" timber for the corners.

Just make sure it can be lifted with pallet forks and you're sorted.

Building a box is a good plan, or strapping kits are on ebay if you may send a few large items. Or just get a few cheap ratchet straps

If you don't have a fork lift tell the shipping co. and they should be able to send a van with a tail lift and a pallet truck

                Thanks for all the comments.
I think I have dodged this one. Like everything else, if you have access to the equipment then its not so bad. But for the average person its a bit of a big ask!
