3 peaks challenge - please read

Right guys, on the 31st May (2 weeks time) my self and my brother and 4 other friends are taking part in the 3 peaks challenge, we are doing this for charity for what i consider a very worthy cause, the Greenwich and Bexley Cottage Hospice.

2 years ago on the 11th June, my mother passed away after a 2 year battle with cancer, she spent her last days under the care of the wonderful nurses of the Greenwich and Bexley Cottage Hospice for which we are eternally grateful, nothing was to much for them, including setting up camping style beds for us in the visitors lounge so we could get some sleep!

The Greenwich and Bexley Cottage Hospice is totally funded through public donations, and it costs in the region of £16k a day to keep it running so we are just trying to do something for them.

Now I appreciate that moneys tight at the moment, and I would normally never "beg" for money for any cause, but this one is such a worthy cause that I am asking for anything you can spare whether its £1 or £50 and also if you are a uk tax payer you can also tick the giftaid box and then they will receive more money for your donation...

The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks, respectively, in England, Wales and Scotland, within 24 hours. The Peaks are:

    •Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)
    •Scafell Pike, in England (978m)
    •Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1344m)

thats approximatly 27 miles and 10000ft!

    if you are in a position to donate, the link to donate to is;

Help John Clement raise money to support Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice

Thanks in advance to those who can spare something

Is this like pikes peak and you're attacking 3 mountains in the quattro, watch out for the altitude, she'll begin to get a bit sluggish towards the top?

small contribution made, best of luck.

      Sorted!

Back in my climbing days I always fancied the 3 peaks, especially as it involves some driving too.. Take care on the roads and on the hill youth

I did it in 2009, just over 23 hours.
Best bit of advice I could give to do it in the time is to not fart about when you get back to car after doing each fell.
Rucksack off get in motor get driving, eat and drink plenty, and grab some kip if you can.
Our roads are busy at best of times, but if you end up in lots of traffic jams it can make a real mess of the challenge.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Don't bother trying to beat the record of just under 12 hours.
It was set in 1971 by Joss Naylor (famous fell runner) they did it in a Capri with not many speed limits in those day's, and certainly no cameras.
