    My bad luck

Had my bunch of keys stolen last Friday which included keys for the car (not the Audi), house and garage.
Reprted it to police and house insurance company immediately and had all house locks replaced. I was in the process of getting quotes for changing all locks on my Saab too. Quotes were in the region of £1000 - £1600

However, just had a visit from pc plod - the ******s only came around tonight and took my car. They have been caught though, although they did end up hitting a car whilst trying to get away from the police.
I have been informed the damage to my car is not too bad(????), but I have lost the car whilst the police carry out forsensic tests etc. Repairs and costs for taking my car away will be charged to my insurance company.
Although I'm glad they have been caught, I bet nothing whatsoever happens to them in court. I'm now wondering how this will affect my insurance premiums. Anyone have any knowledge on that?
    Cheers

    Chris,

Not sure on insurance premiums - I guess you'll have to declare it as a claim though, which will likely be an increase for some companies.

Sorry to hear of yet more bad luck for you though - at least this time it's not the Audi!

Yep, probably just as well Audi is still off the road as doubt the police would have caught them

Garage keys that were taken are for the Audi lock up. Will need to change security locks for that now as only the car key was found tonight. I hope all my tools and other bits and pieces are still there
      Cheers

all depends if they know where your lockup is, you ain't having much luck lately are you?

are you able to charge for alternative transport or just stuck without a car?

and as ross said it will go as a claim so i'd guess that they'd end up charging you more for something that ain't your fault.

          Chris, sorry to hear this
Do you have house insurance? You may be able to claim for some of the losses associated with the keys, even if stolen while you were out, give them a call and check it out.

Edit, sorry mate, just re read you first post and you do have house ins..

@Chris - surely they know where you live already if the car was targetted on the driveway... lucky you changed the house locks... but I would fear for your lockup and contents. Never ceases to amaze me what these thieving scumbags can put their minds to in deviant ways and robbing folk of hard earned / cherished possessions.

Where did your keys get stolen from ?
Be very careful what you tell car insurance companies as if for e.g. you left them in a pub
on a table they may not pay out at all. This happened to a friend of mine.
Whenever the car is stolen with a set of keys they have a chance and will try and get away with not paying out.
