Ah so i might of done alright with my purchase then ! If its a genuine conversion but there is some paper work from Scotts of sloane square about the conversion but is quite hard to read. There is also some stuff here about somebody called Kim Collins and Alcon components

          Wayne,

I still take the Recaro if you do break it, but from the sound of it it has potential, the deciding factor might be the condition of the bodywork, keep us informed and maybe somebody might be able to help you get the photos onto the forum.

You're on the right place to get good advice, in spite of me looking to grab the Recaros.

          Kind regards.

Well to be honest i adore the car even though i havent driven it or had it long but its been a right challenge getting it out of the chap i got it off which took me more than a year and i have certain skills but body work or paint isnt one of them. Id like to keep it but i would so much rather spend extra money and buy one up together

Get it running, give it a good clean/wash and take it from there.

Or sell it to me for £1000

Yeah a good clean wouldnt go a miss and i was going to drop it over the local garage and get them to plug it in and see if they can get it started before i decide what im doing.

As for the £1000 offer, think im going to refuse that offer at the moment thanks

                                Wayne,

Just saw the photos, you need to make a decision now before you do anything further with it. If you start on one option below and change mid-way you'll lose money.

                                Option 1:

Sell it on as is for a small profit.

                                Option 2:

Break it and part it out and look to make a profit and learn from the experience, in more ways than one.

                                Option 3:

Decide to fix it up for minimum outlay and just drive it, and fix anything that breaks only as and when it needs it. Gleaning information from the forum.

                                Option 4:

Decide to bring it back to it's as new condition. This would be expensive and it would be only possible if you have a garage at the house and the necessary tools, as well as the ability to do it yourself, combined with deep enough pockets. You'd have a nice enough car when you're finished. But it may be cheaper and more suitable for you to buy a better condition Avant now or in the next year, that you can drive around in straight away, that may work out cheaper in the long run.

                                The deciding factors are;

                                a. What you want to use the car for - Daily or Weekend car.

                                b. What facilities you have to fix / maintain the car.

                                c. Your ability to be able to fix / maintain the car.

                                d. How much money you have / can devote to the renovation / maintenance of the car.

Once you've considering these factors, it should help you to make the most suitable choice.

                                Kind regards.
