    Broken brakes

    Hey guys

It's broken!!! Anyone know the answer? The brake fluid reservoir has leaked it's fluid from the rear bung on the master cylinder. Can I get just the rubber bung and change it over? Or is it a whole master cylinder or reservoir or everything?

Can't use her till she is fixed

    Thanks
    Chris

Anyone have any suggestions as to what may cause something like this to happen?

      Hi,

I recently changed my master cylinder (on my ur), which meant the removal of the resevoir.

I'm sure you probably already know, those rubber bungs are just a push fit into the cylinder.

Don't know if you can just purchase the rubber bungs or if you have to buy the resevoir?

I'd guess its just that the rubber has deteriorated over time?

      Good luck

Thanks guys. Slightly upset by it as had just started using it after not for 3 weeks and now this....

Will see if I can find any signs of deteriation of the rubber and see what I can do. I will try and see if I can find a replacement to put back on.

Hey guys, did some inmvestigating last night and found one of the rubber bungs in the master cylinder (Part 3a) was split wide open therefore causing all the fluid to leak out and therefore mean no brakes (Ish) Anyone know, if I get a spare master cylinder, can I pop the runner bung out and push it into my existing master cylinder or are they a one fit only? Kinda like once they are in they are in and shouldnt be taken out and reused?

            Thanks
            Chris

Reuse must be OK - no pressure is involved, so if it don't leak when you fill the tank, then all is OK.

Those rubber bungs must only be a quid or 2 from audi surely?

Its more the thing of trying to get them. If its anything like the rest of the parts I order from them it will take 10 days to get them in stock, then I will go get them and they wont be there and taking the time off work to get them etc.... Its the usual experience from the dealers that puts me off.
Will call them and check though
