Its the sam e with all insurance really, depends on age, no claims and points etc. Where you live also seems to have an influance on the price as I found when I moved back from Bournemouth to Buckinghamshire and my premium dropped by £50.

Im trying to get decent insurance for a 80 1.9tdi avant (if I find one to buy) and the quotes Im getting from various places are almost the same as my S2. Work that one out!!

If I insured both I'd be paying nearly £1000

I must admit the A Flux has been good to me but they are no longer the cheapest so will be looking around too. Let me know if you get anywhere.

I've been quoted £600 pa fully comp for next year with Admiral. Not bad for 21yo & 1Y NCD, all mods declared.

Admiral/Elephant seem to like the S2.

Hmmm i know i've got a lot of mods declared... but with 6 years NCB and a couple of years older than you, i wouldn't expect to be paying more than 2.5x as much

@Sonic - how did moving house affect yours?

            It didn't. Same price.

Edit: Just seen you're with admiral not flux. Looks like i'll be moving to them provided they take the mods.

Tbh i don't think it matters much who you insure with these days. You just want to find the lowest price, as you're going to get ****ed if you have a claim regardless of who you're with.

One thing I should add is that quote was on a multi-car policy with my dad and his Toyota - that brought his down from £300 to £200 too.

You might wanna try a mult-car quote with the Clio, Sonic.

And yeah, not confident of not getting shafted with any company... so I'll just try to keep the rubber side down!

                Only things about Admiral:

                - it was only cheap for my parents' postcode (which is where it lives) - goes right back up if I bring it to Leeds full time.

-they wanted a chunk extra for paying by DD - I paid on credit card because it was a lower interest rate!

Yeah tried that last year, i even arranged it so that both insurance are renewed on the same date, but no one would touch me on both.

Either the clio wasn't the right type of car they were interested in (flux) or they wouldn't touch the s2.

I have NEVER paid that much! (Good job you work in IT. )

Worst ever was about £500 IIRC.

£273 with direct line fully comp, being older has to have some perks, although I would rather still be young and pay more for my insurance any day.
