Admiral for me, cheapest by far for me, and cheap for my mods;
21, 3b s2 is about £900
With 996 fronts, 280 rears, manifold, exhaust, springs, shocks, chip, intake mods etc etc it goes up about £150/£200, a cage is an extra £200.
But they will not insure my 80 with a 7a swap?????Current-2004 Impreza PPP wagon

Ive been with admiral for 3 years now and they've been very good and even when a van clipped the back of my S2 in feb 09 they did initially try to write it off but after some harsh phone calls and a few emails they hadnt realised how rare these cars are and after some good examples of S2s for sale around the 6k mark they were happy to repair the work and now mine is a fantastic example again so yeah i would recommend admiral and their rates arent to bad either. As previously mentioned if you do have an accident in your S2 you face a fight with any insurance company really as they are all looking for a cheap way to settle??Comment

Just wanted to add to this, as just changed from Admiral to Adrian Flux.
Last year I paid just £400 comprehensive with Admiral, but their renewal came back at £710. A quick call to see why the huge increase resulted in them dropping it to £445 but with a £450 excess. After reading this thread I gave Adrian Flux a try (after trying many more beforehand) and they quoted me £340 comprehensive, £150 excess with all mods.
But Admiral were by far the cheapest of all the regular insurers, and have been for the last 4yrs since I've owned the car, and they've always been helpful enough - although thankfully I've never had to make a claimAudi 80 S2 Nothelle N300 Avant, 1993, Amethyst Pearl VW/Audi Car Magazine article about this very car

It seems only Adrian Flux will offer me a policy with the AV I require.
However, depending on how much AV you require, you could do far worse than contacting these people. Genuinely helpful and I know a few that have made savings through them. At the end of the day, it's only a phone call
EDIT: Worth calling just because they have a pic of a quattro

I'm with flux, have been for three years, this year they price matched the cheapest quote i had from confused and knocked off the £25 admin fees, which takes the piss anyway. Fully comp, extended 15000 miles a year, 15000
i know but its my everyday driver, £350. I'm happy with that. Got my yank import Dodge ram insured with them aswell, fully comp, 3000 miles limit, for £189.
