    Coolant temperature sensor and plug

I am getting the red light on in the dash which, the book says, is the coolant temp sensor. So before I drop £40 on a new one, does anyone have one that I could purchase or borrow?

could be the coolant level switch is gunked up, try cleaning out your expansion tank first, costs nothing

If that doesn't work try tapping the MFTS with a long socket extension bar

I've got this one at the moment Si.

You'll find it comes from one of two sources - the coolant level sensor of the MTFS.

You can unplug them in turn and see if it gets rid of the warning; once narrowed down clean the connections and try it before replacing it!

Mine is the coolant level sensor - ran around with it unplugged to avoid the annoying alarm... just drained the coolant for a turbo change, gonna give it a good clean, hopefully that sorts it. Can't believe it's £40 though

Thanks Ross, took the reservoir off to try and jet wash it today however you cannot get the jet in there. Can you remove the sensor from the bottle?

I still want the ARB mate. I haven't been to collect it as my wife decided out of the blue she didn't want to be married anymore!
