when it starts getting warm after 5 to 10 min it just seems to cut power off dip clutch revit and then it comes back to life or dip clutch and let rpms drop back to tick over then its ok some times on lite revs it shudders its starting to be a pain now . gas it hard gose like lighting no problems do you have eney ideas andy mate

Have you tried pulling the codes using VAG-COM?

ive not got one i was going to take it some were but i have some new subframe poley bushes and a rear diffbush to do it been doing it for a while now and when i last had codes pulled it gave me idle stablistion valve and g28 but g28 is a safe bet and valve has been replaced

arrr for got to mention when its stud runing and warm put your foot on throttel and hold it at 1500 to 2000 rpms and it seems ot drop off and pick up like you are reving it but not movin your foot weird like possed

Would help us if you specified 3B or ABY.

3B = 034133154F = 200 20vt or early S2

ABY = 078133154 = UrS4/S6, S2 with ABY, RS2, some early A4s and A8s, so more likelihood of finding a good used one at a breakers.
