Answer me this one body shop boys.

My RS2 is going to need small areas of the car repainting.

The color is RS blue, which I've heard is a pain to match because it's pearl.

The last thing I want is a patchwork of different shades of RS blue.

Now I want to know some real hard facts.

If I took it to Audi do they have a fancy space age machine that matches new to existing paint? Or is that a myth?

If I take it to a non Audi bodyshop what should I expect as regards a match.

Surely a pro can match with this color??

Would love to know your ideas on this one.

I have to get it right first time, or my car gets left looking like a dog's dinner.

    rs2315.

Don't go to Audi! They will charge you the earth fo it. A good body shop should be able to match it if they don't they do it again. Simples keep the money in your pocket till your happy with the work.
Just some finishing touches to do now

I am a tad shocked to even think Steve would take my old RS2 elsewhere.

I rang audi about my coupe when a taxi driver opened his door on my rear quarter they don't do the paint themselves they use car cosmetics (in Manchester at least) very good quality job but cost the taxi driver £900 will post some pics of how minor it was when I get home.

Yes he did a deal, bit of discount but still think it worth getting a price.

The dealers never do the paintjob themselves. They always outsource it to another reputable company.
If you can find out to which, it is usually worth contacting the company directly, as they will most likely give you a better deal.

Who actually painted it, was never mentioned in your original thread?

Does that mean you'll do my sunroof free of charge to match original paint?

                        Of course!
The paint needs tinting and the roof blowing in to get perfect match.

Ta Lee I agree with if it's not right then do it again, and if they can't then they don't get paid.

I've learnt a lot since buying this car, and I'm sad to say I trust double glazing salesman more than I used to, if you get my drift.
