    US Customs Delays

Anyone else had anything go missing while being dealth with by them? I sent some dials 3 weeks ago and they've still not been delivered They were sent using Royl Mail Airsure (fully tracked door to door, or so I was tolk ) and that's turned out to be totally useless, as I've been told that it can take up to 25 working days (!) to be delivered. Unsuprisingly, the buyer is pissed at them not being there, so I've now got Paypal to deal with too

Any help greatfully received, as it's properly frustrating, given that I've done as much as possible to get them over there as safe as possible.

        Oh great.

I've given all the information that I can to paypal so have to wait and see what happens... This is total BS and if it were me waiting, then I'd be pissed too

Anything with the word "Mail" or "Post" in it means you are at their mercy. IF you absolutely have to get something somewhere in a short time period, then you need to use DHL, Fedex, UPS, etc, i.e. a courier. Yes, it costs more but they have ways to deal with customs that does not hang the item up, as will just a mail parcel going through customs. BTDT.

Our customs might be quicker but aren't much better overall, my clutch was opened by customs and they didn't really bother to tape it back up. One flap was completely open, the other half closed and the box was ripped down one corner!

My tip is use a US carrier, i.e. fedex and UPS they always seem to fly through customs, they seem to give them priority or something. normally through in 24hrs. Also a properly filled out customs declaration with duplicate copies is essential.

Yeah, learn things like that the hard way I guess. UPS or FedEx are about £25-30 and I've not had any problems like this with the PO before.

Tell him to be patient, these things can take upwards of six weeks. Then the next package will take one week. Hit or miss. Best way of shipping larger parcels to the US from UK is with Interparcel.com.

Interparcel is not a direct courier they just offer you a selection of couriers at reduced price like parcel2go. You would need to know which courier was being selected

longish shot - try using your tracking number on the USPS (not UPS) track website .... USPS to the UK gets handed over to Parcelforce but the USPS number will still track - it might work the other way around.

This is very true... Some items arrive in days and others an take weeks... The US Customs have tightened up on their checks on Mail items...

If things are "Urgent" and the buyer is paying try using Parcel2go (Open an account 1st) and log in for best prices... But for small items they are expensive!!

Unfortunately, I think things have gone beyond rational conversation and patience; the swear filter on here has intervened a few times now... my hands are also tied now as paypal are holding the disputed payment, so I can't offer a partial refund to calm things a bit
