That's not good.... Why do some people just not WANT to understand that International shipping does have it's problems and some times they have to be patient...

It was sent 3 weeks ago, so he's been pretty patient so far. Just have to wait, as unfortunately, there's nowt I can do...

In theory, it's not been handed to the US Postal Orifice yet, as they would have started tracking it. I phoned the post orifice help line today and was told as much all a bit crap.

I can't speak for the other guys, but I can for UPS. We do have an a system in place that allows us to pre-clear shipments with US customs which shortens the customs time considerably.

That really would be useful... I've had a look at fedex, ups and dhl and you're looking at £25-30 for standard and £30-40 for express. A lot more than the good old Post Orifice but then that's a small price to pay if it means that things arrive in a normal tiemscale. I'm currently looking at being out of pocket to the tune of £150 thanks to Royal Mail and Customs and I'm properly narked about it

Not a drama to use a more expensive courier, as buyer pays.
If they aren't in a hurry then they can save a few bob and wait weeks for "normal" post to turn up

Only In An Ideal World Does This Happen...

When Buyers Have So Much Protection With Paypal - when anything take 2 minutes to long to arrive they open a dispute... Or if you charge a sensible amount for express shipping they moan and then (On Ebay) leave low Seller Ratings...

You as the seller get screwed all ways round!!!

Yeah, I'll not be sending anything to the US that's not with a US carrier now, ESPECIALLY if it's paid for through PP. At £20-40 for a set of dials, that will amonst certainly put people off but that's down to US Customs and not me - I have to protect myself from losing money!

I hope that PP can see that I have done all I can to ensure that the item arrives safe and sound... but I will have to wait and see.

You should be OK as you did use airsure which is traceable & that's normally what they require..

Yeah, have to wait and see what happens. It's not be escalated just yet, so there's still time for the item to arrive but the buyer is naturally a bit annoyed. It doesn't help that for some reason, he can't access the track and trace function on the post office website. Not much seems to have gone right on this one...

I can't even offer to send him a replacement set, as PP are holding the money and I can't see him paying additional money for a courier. I think that whatever I do, I'll have an unhappy buyer and be out of pocket. Oh the joy.

If he's not escalated it yet I wouldn't worry about it & you x days in which to provide all the info that PP need.

If you do lose out report PP to the FSA and it will cost them £400.00 to answer the charges... Do a google search for PP complaints...

I had a problem with something I bought not matching the terms I set down for the item and the seller refused to do anything and paypal went with him due to some erroneous reason.

So I complained via the PP site and threatened to report them to The FSA & The OFT and by some magic I got my £25.00 (£150.00 purchase Price) back as a goodwill gesture. So all worked out OK...
