Just seems a bit steep at £265, considering I just want to check codes most of the time. Are there many features on the full version that justify paying the extra price?
The cheap version will only go up to a certain measuring block. The full will do all and some, which is vital when fault finding and data logging sensors. When I had my RS4 I had an EGT problem (as it turned out) but it didn't produce a fault code, having wasted more money on parts than it would of cost for the registered VagCom I bit the bullet...

I pin pointed it immediately with the registered version. In truth the cheap lead is all you will need for an S2 as there is very little to recode or interrogate.

The Porsche Durametric system (vag com) equivelant is £400 and at that price you can only connect it to three cars as it remembers the ECU, if you want the pro version which allows multiple connection, like vag-com it's 1k....

Makes the full fat vag-com good value in my book...
