    Best Current Insurer?

    Good afternoon all!

Having recently received my renewal notice along with a non negotiable £560 increase in my premium(!!!) it's time to start looking elsewhere. So in a nutshell, who's offering the best deal at the moment?

    Cheers

I'm with sky and they are competitive on my cars. There are a few other insurers who sponsor the forum, who might do you a decent deal

For a daily runaround I've used swift cover for this year as they have been the cheapest. If you go through comparethemeerkat it is cheaper than doing it directly through swiftcover for some reason. You get a free cuddly toy too, what more could you want.

The S2 is through Footman James on an agreed value policy. They were about the best for that type of thing when I insured it in March.

Be carefull of swift especially, there small print is screwed up. for example if your car is a previous registered total loss, and you make a claim on that car, they wont cover you, but they dont tell you this when you take the policy out, we see a few unhappy customers with this problem

                    2300gbp?

i am paying this year 120€ for the coupe and 167€ for the 80 Competition....

paying only to the third persons ,road asistance and car glasses up to 300€ max.

this is because it is now 20 years old and i made it like a "Classic car" and the best of all it is that if i had 2 cars with +20 years old i would pay only 120€ for the first car and 90€ for the second one¡¡ same specs on both as i have detailed

It's a PITA having to swap insurers every year, with their 'loyalty penalty'.

I think the problem is the more insurance costs, the more people think they have to milk the insurance companies when it's time to claim. But of course the insurers cannot lose, because all they have to do is put up their costs the following year.
Then of course there are a lot more accident management companies getting their rake-off now.

my commerical broker tells me that things such as personal injury claim payouts are actually falling as the insurers don't roll over as they used to, of course they tell everyone its on the rise so they can continue to milk their customers. As with all financial services, run by theives in suits.

My own Insurance is due early January so this thread couldn't have come at a better time
My car will be 20 years old then, and ideally I would like classic cover for it, however they do not seem to like 'daily driver' thrown into the equation even with limited mileage
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2

Sky seem to be the most competitive for me at £607 although have decided not to renew this November as I wont be using the s2 over the winter.

Why cant you get insurance for just the summer months?

How long is no claims valid for?

                            cheers

I was trying to resist having a rant.
But I'm afraid that sort of behavior is considered a good business model these days, when carried out by large financial institutions.
It is only when an individual or small business behaves that way that it is called fraud/theft.
