    s2 avant slight mods

Not sure where to put this as its a project but on the side of all my other work so that means it gets done slowly
my avant started playing up with boost issues and a coilpack decided it had had enough meaning it was time to pull it off the road for a spruce up...... then a few parts landed at mine for it and next thing i was stripping it for a full re-spray and a few choice extras.

wheels are 9.5" wide with a low et so needed a bit of extra room, got some rs4 side skirts that were not too difficult to fit but needed which i thought was weird as i thought the B5 had a longer wheelbase?

started playing with my wings next, the edges had started to go anyway but the rest of the wing was in very good condition so i chopped the edge off and chopped up a spare set of b4 wings.

next slowly tacked all the areas of the flared metal so as to not warp the metal and then again bit by bit seam welded the tacked areas.

wing back on ready to be stripped back to bare metal and lead loaded, gonna be a while before more work done though as ive got a mk1 golf re-furb, my own caddy pickup to re spray and a pitbike to put on the road for summer

Stick with it, i've been interested to see what you came up with after the a8 rims. How's your quattro saloon going?

Paint is staying the same colour but I've converted its formula into a 3stage pearl so it will have a lot more depth. As for bumpers they are also getting widened out with another bumper parts I got from andy on here. Once the 2 have been plastic welded together il smooth them back into the original lines. Pearleffect blue is one of the nicest colours but it takes some looking after to keep it "popping" the 3rd stage of pearl should help this without taking away the colour.

I like the sound of the flared bumpers, looking forward to the outcome.

wheels are Rota grid drifts 9.5x18 ET15 so as to stop the wheel fouling the suspension strut.
not really had much more time to do anything on it apart from bit more prepping and a bit of lead loading.
found a couple of pics on my old camera.

I want to keep the swage line through the wing so needed to play with that a bit as flaring the wing causes the line to drop. i chased it out with my die grinder and will re-weld a new piece in from behind.

got the mk1 golf in the background of the 1st pic in for a resto so want the front end of that sprayed before the middle of the month as i need the space to get my pickup in

Wow! awesome modding there. Get some big brakes behind those nice wheels and that will be perfect.
