Just had a very near miss

Overtaking someone who decided to turn right without indicating.

Drove up onto the grass verge, across the road they were turning into, onto another verge and skidded around infront of them. Pretty much shat my pants, was sure I would hit them but somehow didn't. Tested the off road ability of the S2 a tad and it seems fine somehow, might need to get the tracking checked out though.

But seriously lucky I suppose.

I hate to be a kill joy but you are seriously advised against overtaking where there is a side road for this very reason. Glad you are okay and the S2 is undamaged.

You were very lucky dude! I've had this happen on the bike and it's not fun, you have to have your idiot radar active all the time. As my dad told me when I was learning to drive " Just remember that they're all out to kill you and you'll probably survive"

Indeed - i don't think the insurance claim would have come down in your favour overtaking across a junction, put it that way!

Same thing happened to my partner, up a grass hill and through a hedge was the only coarse of action..

Good advice, I'm usually very careful with this sort of thing. The side road they turned down is fairly new and just leads to two new houses, will watch out for it in future!
