    Wheel and tyre help

    Two parts to this post.

My car should finally be going back on the road soon. To finish her off and make her look tip top, I am hoping to have the wheels refurbished. Now here is where I need some opinions and the help of some photoshoppers.
    Do I keep the wheels;
    1) same colour as now
    2) darker anthracite colour
    3) white
    4) black

Here is a pic that can be manipulated by those who can

Secondly, the tyres on my car have been stood about for 4 years so probably need changing. As they will be coming off the rims for the refurb anyway, what tyres do people recommend for the quattro.
    Toyo Proxes
    Falken 492
    Good Year F1 Eagle

    Many thanks

Very nice car. If you stay with those wheels I would leave them as is OR go anthracite but only on the spokes and centre, leaving the lip silver.

Its Falken 452's and i would recommend them any day over the goodyears or toyos as they give the same grip for 2/3 's the money

I would go anthracite and I also use Kalken FK452's. Brilliant tyres, im now on my third set in a row.... They do take some abuse too!

I love the F1s (asymmetric ones). I have the 452s on the S3 and the grip is pants compared to the F1s on the S2 - although could be down to different cars rather than tyres.

            Love the car BTW.

Interesting? Many votes for the proxy's elsewhere. They don't appear to be the cheaper option anymore either on a lt of sites although Camskill have both Toyo and Falken at a good price.
Was there a forum discount with them?

I think anthracite would be a good choice. I think the darker rims give the illusion of smaller wheels so make the car a bit less inconspicuous.
Im thinking about going with anthracite 3B s2 wheels.

The whole dark wheel thing has been done to death IMHO, stick with classic silver for that timeless look
452s or Kumho KU31s which we have on the S4, both are excellent value for money, with 90% of the performance of the big boys for 2/3 the price

Kumhos get my vote! KU31 if you want directional, KU39's for assymetric.

Have made a decision. Keeping colour as they are.
Shame the Yokohama AVS Sport have to go. The tread on them is still excellent, but having been stood around for four years, the rubber will be shot.
Rubber will be Toyo Proxes TR-1's. Camskill have them on offer at £65.At that price, can't really go wrong.

THanks for all your input peeps!

Good choice, IMO dark wheels are for people who don't really like their wheels and want to hide them

Toyos or F1 assyms for me.

As posted over on classic Audi, had not spotted this thread, have you thought about a change of wheel to something with a bit of a dished rim to be more in keeping with the era of the car, you could sell your wheels and tyres together then as a package. And it would give you some spare cash towards something else
