Reminds me of my step dad. He is into Landrovers and had a long wheel base Safari V10. One day he woke up with a headache when he left for work.... When he came home at the end of the day he was driving a battered old Cavalier. He had only gone and swapped the landrover for it because it made his headache worse!

So when you get to this point I live in Hertfordshire and can swap for a ford puma, a golf gti a vw T4 or a Polo.... take your pic.

Only four years, rush job for an S2 so.

Best make sure you have a back up daily driver so.

Welocme to my world of 15mpg, on a average day, urS6 fully loaded.

Putting a bigger turbo and injectors on the S2 that will then take up d/d duties.

I have only recently started using my S2 as a daily driver, has its good points and bad points. Good points are getting to blast down country roads in the sunshine everyday enjoying the car for what it is. Bad points are fuel consumption (~230miles per tank) and being stuck in traffic jams with the temp gauge a few notches past 90 with the cooling fan running overtime. I just hate the thought of everything being cooked to death under the bonnet with heat soak. Also runs like crap unless you can keep on the move over 50mph to keep things cool.

I also find myself making "todo" lists while sitting in traffic, really must change those a-arm bushings, could do with bleeding the brakes, wonder if i'm due an oil change

Finances have dictated that a car had to go, so I'm roughing it in the S2 from now on.

Great choice of a daily. I don't run mine ever day but its my 'daily' and im used to 19-25mpg with a steady foot. I'll keep a look out if I'm in Bristol.

So in the last 2 days I've been leak busting by refitting both door seals and sorting the side trims, re hung both doors, rebuilt the driver's side window mechanism and a host of other little jobs that haven't been done in 4 years... Nothing like learning as you go
