A mate of mine popped up last and handed me his new wastegate, not exactly your average bit of kit and not your average price either!

It's the 50mm version although they are made in various sizes



Atleast unlike some expensive shiny parts you do get to see it everytime you open the bonnet! Or boot in his case

They are used on the Indy cars and touring cars, this one is going on my mates RS200

I think they were -4 fittings on it, it is quite a chunky unit but is made from some rather exotic materials.

The costs of the resto are ridiculous, obviously nothing ( well just about nothing ) is available new for them so he has had them remanufactured, the front shafts and joints were a couple of grand.

We are doing all the spare panels for the car, some he has had for a while and some we picked up from Belgium at Christmas which are all a little rough round the edges.

Sadly I really can't ever see the car being properly used, by that I can't even imagine it going on track but I'll leave him to prove me wrong lol
