    fined in Trowell services

A few weeks back I was coming up the M1 in the early hours, had to go for a kip in the carpark of MOTO Trowell services.Only intended getting a bit of a powernap but woke up 3 hours later

Thought no more about it until a week or so afterwards when i received a letter with a couple of pictures of my car/number plate and demanding payment of £90 within 28 days or £50 within 14 days because I had stayed more than 2 hours.

I have heard of these sort of things before where they are basically operating outside the law and just hope that you get scared and send them the money.I read somewhere that if they can't identify who was driving the car they havn't got a leg to stand on,this was to do with the NCP 'parking eye' ,but I believe this company 'CP PLUS' are on the same game.:corey:

Would they rather me just have kept on driving and caused an accident further up the ****ing M1?Its not as if I havnt already spent £1000s in their ****** overpriced places over the years

Today is the last day of the 14 days and £50 thing so I was wondering if anyone on here had had been in the same boat and just ignored the letters?

ignore, keep on ignoring and don't even reply or contact them at all.
you'll get a series of letters, some with red ink.

Agree with everyone. Screw them, fed up of hearing decent people making decent decisions and getting hammered for it. Quite right you stopped to ensure continued safety on your journey.

I am currently having fun with the TV licence people at the minute. They crack me up with their assumptions that every living person spends their entire life in front of a box. Chap turns up the other day at the door and simply says "name" Errm, no fella, it doesnt work like that around here. He tells me he is from TV licensing and that I dont have a licence. Yep, you dont need to tell me. I know. I told him I have no TV and he said I "have" to make a declaration so that someone can come round and inspect my property ha ha. No mate, I dont "have" to do anything. You have to prove it and seeing as you wont disclose your methods to the courts, your evidence can not be used. The only people who get done are the fools who sign the statements. I refuse to be bullied into paying for something that I dont want/have.

Just waiting for an invoice for the oxygen I am breathing. It wouldn't surpise me.

How do these cowboy companies gain access to your details...I would have thought that only DVLA had the right to this information...maybe you enquire how they gained this information.

I know the dvla make a lot of money from selling all the details on their database, various companys pay £1000s for the privilege :corey:

They changed it a few years ago and the DVLA charge companies to get these details. There was a big outcry but the money grabbing :corey: got away with it
