Cheers Steve, they do look smart - very pleased with the finish.
In some ways the RS2 conversion decision is already made by my bank balance, the cost of buying the car, importing it and doing the bits i've done so far is preventing me from even considering it. My main focus is on presentation at the moment but I must admit the devil in me says create a seriously rare sleeper..

Ha, not really. The interest and information provided to him from us on here made it a very expensive deal!

Ok, the car Andy is referring to is mine. Recently confirmed by Audi Uk & Ag as the only Rhd S2 Sedan/Limo in the UK. I will be starting a thread on it shortly but in the mean time be assured that this car is being given the love it deserves, I have changed a few things but they are all 'bolt on' and everything that has been removed is going to be refurbished and preserved properly so it can be reverted to completely standard with all original out of the factory parts at any time. Even doing what I've done so far took a lot of consideration but my theory is I want it to look and drive the way I want it to without detracting too far from OEM and so far I'm happy! The debate over the RS2 conversion will never come to a conclusion but I'm genuinely surprised by the varied responses so far. For now I'm just going to smarten things up and enjoy driving it!
A sneak pic of what's been done so far:

Congratulations, always wanted that car when I first saw the thread with this red one and the silver one in New Zealand.

The idea of a RHD S2/RS2 saloon is very appealing. A bit like a wide body B5 RS4 saloon. But a one off factory RHD S2 saloon is a sight to behold.

I have two S2 Avants and and a urS6, and a V6 silver Cabrio and a silver V6q saloon, and even though the S2s are great, and the S6 is brilliant, I’m still continually thinking about the idea of making the silver V6q saloon the main car, i.e. changing it to S2 body spec, with RS2++ engine spec. because the B4 saloon shape is so good in the S2/RS2 format.

Wnet for a spin in a chipped B5 RS4 Avant last night, and nearly had a “Dest" moment, just don’t have the money to change horses, or add to them.

Your mods so far in the photo are very sympathetic.

I think they’re A8 Sport 18” wheels, not 17” Boleros. ...

I think everything on it could be changed to RS2 spec, if you wished. But include a Wagner RS2 exhaust manifold and a hybrid KKK like a Ross and Sonic’s, to retain the RS2 air box and turbo oil/water pipes as well as the air pipework.

It should all look factory, even if has say monblocks instead of big reds.

In an ideal world with loads of money. ( i.e. not realistic or a possibility ), everything refreshed and nothing changed for oem spec, kept in a carcoon and never driven, a complete car queen in a museum, and a similar V6q saloon modified to RS2+ spec for everyday use.

Enough rambling, what a car, what a nice dilemma to have.

Well wear.

Looking forward to future updates, and photos. Glad it’s gone to a deserving owner, who knows what he’s got.

Best wishes.

If its an investment keep it stock if you want to enjoy your car the rs2 spec it
Don't see the argument standard cars fetch more maybe in the golf world but not audi. I avoided stock cars when I was buying as stock cars most of the time aren't looked after or dealership service life which for me isn't a selling point

agree with jamo, stock car is just not quick enough especially in this modern age.
anyone who as own's s2 for long enough, will telll you how quickly you get use to standard power.then rs2 specs becomes an obsession, beyond control.

Just re-checked the build tag breakdown for the "Jersey" RHD S2 saloon. The second code, B0A, is also interesting:

The rule of thumb is..dont believe the production figures Audi have documented. There are a few that they haven't told anyone about, this car being one of them.

It's a difficult choice really, but as others have said, considering how rare it is, then OEM may be best or at least being able to revert back to OEM. Having seen this car in the flesh, it was looking stunning, only the brakes give away what is underneath!

IMO - for such a rare/one off car you have already broken the golden rule by fitting those alloys...

As much as I don't like them you need to have a set of 18" Avus MK1's...

The 996 Brake upgrade was a must do - as this is something that will keep the car on the road and not in a ditch....

I know this sounds rich coming from a guy who has just sold his S2 today - BUT I did make every effort to keep it stock for the last 15 years, but did get "conned" into making it OEM + and I always used Genuine parts where I could...
