My friend's turbo is dead in her A3 TDI. Unfortunately the shaft has broken
Where can I get a decent quality recon or "remanufactured" turbo from for it? I'm a bit worried after recent purchases of poor quality pattern parts.. There's a few on the 'Bay at around the 300 quid mark

Tell him to check it for boost leaks, every TDI I've seen leaked everywhere,
could well be the cause of the turbo failing due to it over spooling trying to
make boost with a leak.
What year is the car and whats the enginecode? I have got a near new turbo from a VW caddy here that was replaced totaly unecesary (spelling?) it is from a 2002 or 2003 TDI. £150+ postage

We went with Turbo Active as Spink suggested, thanks James ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346570160.389721.jpgAs above, 300 quid with all the bits and pieces and car now goes beautifully (best it ever has according to the owner!) excellent result!
I got one off eBay, from a seller called nerings, it's a Latvian based company with a uk warehouse, it cost me 380.00 and he gave me another 75pounds back and arranged collection for the turbo. It was for an e39. 530d. They sell a lot of turbos and seem to know what they are doing. Turbo is ok 3k miles on it since fitted!
Their website is nerings.lv
If you use quidco on the eBay purchase u will also save another 20pounds or so!
