Poor fella he'd be gutted to see this thread
Hope he sells it for his asking price. Someday one of yall will want to sell or have to sell lets hope you get what you want for it too
I personally when ready to purchase my S2 and RS2 it's gonna have to have low mileage and original paint... And I'll pay top dollar for it. These things are disappearing and folks will be crying when the prices double. Evo M's are in abundance and still claim 20k plus. Im very surprised how slowly the original S and RS cars are catching up to the classic marque market in cost. Germany an original S is claiming 10keuro at minimum and they aren't even low mileage.
Too bad about the salted winters in the UK but boy I love RHD... and again Im a strange fella there were less of em built anyway. Hope by the time Im ready to purchase I don't get the high sticker that will come when folks start making extra pocket change again. More sellers than buyers market these days fellas
Cheers mis amigos,

I decided to buy a fairly low milage RS2 last year. I'm new here, but have a decent collection of choice cars, some of which I've had for over 15 years or so.
What motivated me to buy one is that they seem to be quite under valued compared to similar cars in the market. As someone has already mentioned, if you'd bought an E30 sport evolution M3 a few years ago, you'd be happy with what has happened with the market during your ownership.
The RS2 is a fairly iconic, limited run car with an interesting connection to Porsche built on the same production line as the 959. They've never going to be cheap to restore or put right, so as someone once said to me buy right and cry once. Yes there will always be cheap cars, cat D write-offs and the like, but do the maths, someone said recently that there were around 100 RHD RS2's left in the UK, of that number if you speculated that maybe 10% of those cars are worth owning without any dramas, brushes with the scenery or needing thousands plowing into them. That leaves 10 cars and if you want a specific colour it starts getting harder. I think over the next few years the prices of these cars will go up dramatically. It's just supply and demand.
In 2003 I was very close to buying a Porsche 964 RS Lightweight and thinking it was maybe a tad expensive at £24k, looking back I should have bought 3!Comment

i have been in this car, and though it looks very good, unless Fraser did the upgrade he was meaning to, it is not faster than an rs2 with a GT3071R setup. The modifications made to the engine/turbo cannot be 100% verified and so, if it were me, although im happy with anyone asking anything they think right for their car, i wouldnt pay that amount.
I agree with those above who said that unless the car is trully unmolested, then its worth a lot. Otherwise, this one, will definitelly need a good deal of checking out enginewise to say ill pay the 20K for it.
i hope he sells it at the price he wants.Comment

I suppose this is quite subjective, but for me, I was after a nice straight honest car that hadn't been messed with, low number of owners, low (ish) milage etc. Colour is obviously a personal preference, I wouldn't have been disappointed with a silver one, but wanted RS Blue. Just a fully looked after car without anything missing or broken.
That said, I'm not opposed to OEM+ none intrusive mods as long as it has been done well or by well respected specialists. From my own point of view I'd want period correct parts so factory Big Brake kit, maybe a Milltek and an MRC re-map, but that would be my own limit. If I'd intended on the full modded route I'd have started with a snotter.Comment
