Car Insurance with disgusting treatment, am i over reacting?

well i am 100% following this up with the authorities

the ombudsman has sent letters of complaint to Crosby Highway Robbing Agency

they will be duely completed and returned for further bo11ockings to happen hopefully

Right then, update time.......

so anyway i thaught id keep my trap shut and wait for the cheque to come,

and today it did

bearing in mind on 28th december 2011 i paid £1336 give or take a couple of pence

policy was CANCELED ON ME, not vice versa, 8 months later to the day,

they have just send a ****ing cheque for £186

i am so mad its unreal,

what can i do, they say its cancelation fees etc etc etc

i was expecting about £ 4-500

propperly upset, BUT i am back in newcastle next monday so will go in face to face

i have also got dates and times of phonecalls from my network provider etc


Please help, as i am really angry i cant think straight

the money isnt really the big issue here, more the treatment

It is criminal, but the percentages for refunds after certain periods of time are usually in the small print or t & c's. Unless you cancel in the first couple of months you basically get screwed.

someone on another forum said because i changed the address, this is their get out clause and they can then charge me all the fees!

also they are still keeping their profit for the whole years policy it seems, due to them being a broker.

Had flux do something similar after i cancelled a policy i'd paid upfront on a urS4 after a few months. Luckily i had the leverage of still having the S2 with them, so got all charges dropped and only paid pro-rata.
