i read somewhere that the wires is not the same for the audi symphony and rns-d , i must connect permenant +v to the safe otherwise it will keep refusing the code.

You have to wire a permanent live to the SAFE pin.
That will sort the problem, and you will be able to input the code.

thumbs up for you success , but i wanna know the cd it have in for what? music or navi? and if for nav why there is dvd box too? or the dvd box doesnt belong to the RNS-D ?

I don't know if it can play DVD or not... you have to look that up.
The map is on CD afaik.

The box that I have is a 6 CD changer and it is in the boot on the left side behind a detachable panel in my car (RS4 B5).
It works with CD-R's but not CD-RW.

aha so the cd in the head unit is just for the maps? , and no need for additional dvd box in the trunk, u have rns-d on the rs4?
