According to research carried out by Warranty Direct the Audi RS6 is the most unreliable car of the last 15 years. The research considers the number of faults coupled with the cost of repair to give each car reliability index rating. The RS6 scored 1282 ! 2nd place went to the V10 BMW M5 with 717 and by comparison, the most reliable car was the Mitsubishi Lancer with a reliability score of just 6!!
Mine ate the alternator after 2,000 miles... Have a few niggles but nothing major. Quoted £1100 to replace by Audi, £200 plus spagbol for a refurbished one and Acidburn to fit it
Angus how do you find the MTM gearbox map? I have to use flappy paddle down shifts or sport mode to get it smooth all the time, generally its fine but gives the odd harsh downshift if I floor it just as it decides to upshift... that makes me nervous! You ever get such behaviour? Car is on 112k, gearbox last replaced at 66k... Sell at 120k perhaps!

Gearbox wise that sounds fairly normal to me, I have only driven it over the past year
or two, inc an indicated 140mph 5 up going round the Le Mans Circuit after the race
I know what you mean, it's not entirely intuitive and takes some learning, quite often it upshifts just before you floor it. Sport mode is a bit keen to shift down unecessarily too.
Never really bother with the paddles as the changes are not that fast. Autos have come on a long way in the past 5 or so years!
I think they're great cars, it's so comfortable and effortless, somehow has that comforting feeling of stability and safety with the performance.
Dad describes the handling as "crap" compared to his C63 Estate, but thats to be expected. I does grip well, but not the best turn in...
