I never knew him but I certainly knew of him, for good and for bad. He is certainly a loss to the Audi community. RIP

intelligence is both a blessing and a curse

i was unaware of this man until today but i found reading the last few paragraphs of his biography very unsettling but insightful, strikes me as a man who truly struggled to be understood

                    a real shame

i am sorry if i offend with my comments

Probaly not far off the mark.

In answer to many a question on the forums he would say "Why do I bother?" (then post a link to the relevant page on his website)

There are a lot of quattro owners who are glad he did bother.

                      RIP Phil.

I didnt really see eye to eye with him, but this is sad and shocking news.

I paid him to inspect my quattro when I was buying it about 6 years ago. The car had the wrong rotor tip fitted, and it was pretty hilarious to see him chasing the garage owner with the offending owner and saying "what the hell is this!!" and the garage owner saying, don't you dare touch that car etc etc.

I'm lost for words after reading that, what a truly remarkable man you have been Phil.

I remember when you first came to help me with my Quattros, the stories you shared, the knowledge you passed on will never be forgotten. On reflection, I can not thank you enough.

We may not have seen eye to eye in the latter years, but I 'thank you' and wish you safe passage on your final journey into oblivion. It has been a pleaseure to know you.
