Put a urq exhaust on a 20vt - that gives a 10vt sound, tonk's did it with s2tornado's urq and that sounded brilliant.

Is it just me that thinks that our cars don't sound like the beasts on YouTube ?

Interestingly the other night on my iPhone I recorded some footage from my s2 and played it back,it sounded just like the ones you see on the Internet,yet to the naked ear you can't hear it.

If you have ever driven with the tailgate open you will know the sound you get is addictive !

My 3 inch straight through is quite interesting,sounds like a big American v8 in 1st and 2nd yet when you are hard on it sounds like an s1 !

How does yours sound ?

Drive through a tunnel mate And you'll feel butterflies as you rev through the rpms... and I've only got a NA 7a sounds like a V8

does this valve create any issues with your boost Rusty?
I had the idea at some point to fit one so that it opens above a certain rpm level and thus reduce EGTs secondary to higher backpressure, but never got around to it. Wouldnt the lower backpressure also affect the boost level as well?

This one is opened or closed, there's no rpm feedback. Car feels broadly the same either way but just sounds mad, which is all I was after.

If you want it to sound good in the cabin then you have to strip out all the sound deadening and padding that Audi put in there to make it refined. I've removed loads of it and it's still refined and quiet... Even with mine dumping a 3" pipe from the turbo under the rear seats, the carpet and sound deadening that I've recently put in have made it fairly civilised, so you still have to open the window. If you want it to sound like a rally car inside then unfortunately, you have to remove most of the road car bits I miss the car being totally stripped, even on a quiet exhaust, it sounded pretty mad.

Its funny really with the 5pot engines, I always said if our old 10v KV in the Rallyrep made about another 150bhp but sounded the same I'd be happy.

It's the turbo dampening out the exhaust pulses. Guess the only way to bring back the pulses would be some sort of resonance chamber or more turbo bypass...

For noise alone the old kv cannot be trumped. Empty standard back box on my old one and it was braw, I thought.
