3.3 flat six turbo Porsche motor, nice and light and the weight is nice and low down,
improve the handling no end.

I like it. It could bolt straight onto an 01E too. I wonder if there's enough width in the engine bay. I might have to do some measuring.

I'd go 1.8t overbired or strokered. The vr6 is just a sh*t engine end of and the r32 although better in flow is still a very nose heavy poor to handle car. The vtec is the right idea weight wise but no torque to pull the quattro drivetrain.

i have a golf mk3 vr6 with lowed springs and hard as hell shocks , it flys , its as fast as my 100 S4 up to 80mph then the S4 starts to pull away, it good fun ! , i got mine to use as a track car but have not put it out on track yet as i have been trying to get my S2 rebuild finshed,

i am biased towards the 1.8T obviously

but there are a number of Quattro cars over here doing the VR6 turbo swaps. they are upwards of 900+ whp, and one runs 9.4x @ 160 in the 1/4 mile while still street driven and street car classed. AND driven on the street as well.

but some friends of mine with UrQ's are now moving towards the new VW I-5 20v motors from like the MK5 Rabbit.
