the new CV`s just nip the hub when they are torqued up

im NOT happy now lol

gently put my tools away in the van, shut the garage doors and drove away before i smashed it up

looks like a small shim is needed between the bearing and CV face, will get some machined tomorow

i must must must have a car to use this weekend, if i cant do this i gotta buy one.....grrrrrrr...

yes, tighten hub bolt with ratchet by hand its fine

torque up on the floor and it pulls the CV against the hub

looking on ebay for another car now lol

dont have time for ****ing about, need a motor this weekend

and to think you could have swapped your 80 for this beauty lol



a flapper wheel on the grinder on the cv would sort it surely?

better off keeping the audi it looks a hell of a lot better

listen, worst case i will weld the centre diff for now!

pick up the new g.box and swop back over at a later date

got the S2 front CV`s etc so no major hastle really

Make sure you measure the O.D of the joint as well

with the specs i had available in euro car prats it seemed all fine, and the dunny run seemed fine, just the final torque

never mind, fire up the Qua.......GRINDER

im always being told, thats just my life lol

now you have said it, it happened to me too. i grinded off a bit of the hub outer edge to make it sit perfectly.

gonna try the other side first incase its summat to do with the new wheel bearing i made an **** of when fitting it lol

no, it is really a problem of the joint manufacture. i belive it is a matter of them not being original, and they dont fit perfectly as it happens on other not original parts like lights, fenders and so on...

all sorted, even bought 5mm spacers for the front, another set on their way tomorow
