    Fake badges

What is it with people putting badges that don't belong on their car?

In the last 24 hours alone i've seen 2 Audi's with urS4 badges on them, which clearly are not S4's, certainly judging by the way the last one got destroyed off a set of lights by a c4s.

In the work car-park there is a BMW 320d with a ///M badge on the back

On the other hand rather than putting an ///M badge on my 125i M-Sport, it has no badges at all, so that it looks like every other tooled up 116i M-Sport

    What am i missing?

It does seem sods-law that whenever there is someone willing to have a bit of fun in a decent car, i'm not in the S2.

Apart from the smart-car nailing it off a couple of sets of lights the other day.... at the final set i just wanted to be ahead, gave them a headstart and then WOT in 1st, spinning up all the wheels before seeing it go backwards.

For some reason they were giving me the old headlight flash

Haha here in Romania we call these people "cocalari" Like somebody trying to be cooler but in fact he succeeds just the opposite.
I don't understand these people at all. I was thinking of starting a website called coca-tuning.ro with pictures of cars like you said...
Here in Romania many BMWs are M or M Power, many Audi A4 have the 4 reversed in mirrow, many TDIs are V6 Sport, etc
It would be kind of fun to start a topic where we can put pictures of cars like these or really badly tuned cars. We should have a good laugh...

This happens to me all the time, my theory is that driving something other than the S2 gives people a chance to catch me up as I drive slower. So in theory if you drive slower in the S2 then you should see more action but who's got the patience for that!

The fake badges are funny, you'd think if you were selling a car you'd take them off?! I met an old man in an S2 badged coupe in London who said that he had bought it with the badges on, he didn't have any idea they weren't original.

remember going to audi stockport and asking for bits for the s2 and told they don't make an s2.

after numerous trades I pointed to the coupe and asked "whats that then?"

fake badges are as common as fake bbs wheels I think its fair to say.

I had a similar experience when I owned a Citroen AX GTi.
Was told 'Citroen never made a GTi, just the GT'
I explained to him that I had one parked out outside, 'nah mate, someone must have swapped a later engine into it'.

He was kinda stumped when I pulled the V5 out that clearly stated AX GTi 1.4 injection.

                    'oh. . . I never knew they made one?' . Was the only answer I got. . . . . What a prick!

The '3L TDI' badges on the back of the Lupo seems to confuse some people here in the UK.

I never bothered debadging the S2, as not many know what they are, or what they are capable of.
But I normally debadge stuff, as people who know, know.
Even the S3 is debadged, despite having an S3*** plate, which you would think was a give away, yet loads of people have asked if it's a 'real S3'.
The S3 is a little different, because with an 'S' badge on it people might expect it to be fast. So it's definitely better without.

Unplug your N75. You'll get loads of action then IME.

Or drive something with a Porsche badge. Then you'll get loads of chances for action. Most of which will last for about 5 seconds of giving your car some throttle

It's even more hilarious when you see cars with fake badges on the wrong side, if they are going to imitate at least do it on the right side like its supposed to be
