have to say it has bad news written all over it. I'd get his bank details that he will be using to send the money and ask your bank to verify them and see what protection they will be affording you in the transaction.

        Yes true.
I was saying that because I meant that you don't have 100% proof that is a scam than you can't say it's a scam.
Never thought from this point of view that you're better off than sorry.

I was thinking from my point of view - the problems I had before I had my paypal account, everybody was running away from me when asking if I can pay through bank account or money transfer. Even in September I bought an iphone from ebay.co.uk and paid through my verified paypal ID and the Seller asked for my scanned ID saying he's afraid that I'm a scam and I've stolen the paypal account or something.

Anyway, Sonic is right, if the payment is made from a fraudulent account, than your money can be reversed.

But you can ask the Buyer for an ID to verify that he is the person who is sending the money.

There are many simple things you can do to verify if he's true or fake.

great respone from you all , i think i will take s2 driver uk addvise and get his bank details ,full name ,dob, then get my bank to check it out if poss. i have done some home work his name [he tells me] is gerard he owns a ex works quattro, he sent me pictures of it [ they look old]. i can not tell if it is a ex works car ,it has loads or crap bits fitted he recons its got alloy block , plated diffs works gearbox [broken as well as broken diff] this is why he wants the parts . he wants 2X A1 front wings 1x front bumper 1x windscreen ,1 rhd door steel, 1 steel bonnet, front and rear subframes, 5 speed gearbox . there is a person called gerard that did a rally in namibia around 2003 and 03 and it was in a quattro , but how can i be certain ths is him or an imposter. i have told him i want half the money up front, then the rest when he has saved it up complete with the money for shippment of parts in a crate, then after ive been paid in full i will send everything. he said he has the first payment . one more thing i think he contacted me after i had my rally car advertised for sale on a rallycar web site, he said no wants to help him in the past , he does seem to know a bit about the quattros
