    K24 7400 / K24-7400 for 600 EURO ??? K247400

I am more and more interested in upgrading my chipped 3B to 350 hp.
Since PRJ has announced that he chipped a K24-7400 with so good spool I have decided that is the turbo for me. But they are so damn expensive, over 1200 EURO at my local parts shop (refurbished).

However, I have found today a turbo shop who is willing to sell them refurbished for 600 EURO.

So I am asking is there anybody here that knows a cheaper place to buy them? Or 600 EURO is OK?

That is what i'm doing on my aby at the moment. i manage to get second hand turbo with 66k km, so in good shape
from volvo bloke, i paid £350 for it. so it's nowhere near that you can get it for 150 bucks or so, maybe in states, but plus postage and all taxes and waiting time end up about same! and is not just simple swap, few things have to be modifed to fit! i read all the threads about it but it is not 100% clear what is need to be done to fit and run until you see it your self.

Well for 600 EURO he is getting me a refurbished one with new core and warranty. Basically good as new one.
I've googled a while for this turbo in the US, on some volvo forums but I could not locate one. And I mean not even a single one. Maybe my google skills are bad.
I only found one on ebay.com refurbished as well for 1000 dollars but what the funk, now it's 2000 dollars?

£250-£350 seems to be about the going rate on ebay uk for a low mileage used one.

Might want to look at some old posts of refurbed rs2 units for a cost comparison.

You still need the correct hotside as well.

        You any further George.

yes i'm not far now, well.. got the hot side done and fitted! but that is as far as you can go without mods! turbo outlet facing wrong way(needs rewelding) , hoses won't fit as they are different diameter, original dump valve needs to be blanket of or better everything machined out there and the hole welded up. oil lines wont fit as a cold side it's much bigger...
          so it's not astrait swap.
still hunting for green giants injectors and waiting for PRJ for reply when...
          there you go
          but i'm still very positive

What cold side did you get? I got the short V band one, but there is a longer one as well.

I think Ruffiano got his welded at a specific angle so the coldside could to be clocked to clear the oil/coolant lines, BYD? made custom line.

I got a 3" cobra head intake hose and a 2.75" reducing ring same as Ruffiano from the States for the intake.

I think one of the silicon hose companies might make a larger diameter intake hose, as well as 034 etc.

by the way, k24 can be machined out with no probs and should flow the same as k26.
k26 and k24 hot sides are same externaly in size, just outlet needs enlarging and profile of the new bigger wheel needs to be followed. maybe that was clear to everybody else but when i needed that info could not find it.

regarding pipework i may weld something from stainless, got some 3" tube laying about, left from exhaust i done couple months back. will be much more cost efective

Who was the seller? I would like to see if he has the other side of the v band for sale.

                          Hi,

we build two upgrades for that. We take your k24/7000 and modify the unit:

340HP k24-2477DXB6.11 899Euro overhaul and upgrade full boost by 2700rpm

380HP k24-2480DXB6.12 1099Euro overhaul and upgrade full boost by 3000rpm

The units are full plug and play (k24/7400 is not) and have optimised clearances (K24-7400 has not) the all come with 360 degree thrust bearing (k24/7400 has not)
