    Cool project
I am surprised you're not going to go with a V6 for more authentic sound, and it would be a load easier to fit in there surely?

It's never been on the road to my knowledge and has been sat in various owners garage for at least the last 5 to 6 years.
I aim to get it on the road but am struggling sorting out this saab engine that's in it.

It's over fuelling like I don't know what and short of swapping the MAF I am stuck for things to try.

What version of ECU is it in there? Could hook up diagnostics to it maybe and look what is going on?!

Thanks Dimitri, there is no labels on the ECU so not sure as yet, it's a bosch MAF and ignition module so guess its a bosch ECU and not Lucas.

Cheers for the last shot brian, thats the one I wanted to see.

Has it gone past the point that its not road legal or can it still be mot'd and used on the road if required?

Could be a Bosch ECU. SAAB also made their own ECU's "Trionic", so could be that also.
Most likely there are some fault codes present, question is how to get them out of the magic box.

What an awesome project! fair play this will be amazing when you get it sorted.
You didnt mess about with getting her sprayed up. Good job
What i would do, im not saying that you should. but i perhaps wouldnt waste time trying to get the saab motor running i'd just get a VAG unit in there asap.
Lots of decent options available what about an R32, R36 engine?? authentic V6 noises, and plenty of poke?
but with your knowledge I5 20VT would be amazing!!!! And as mentioned before a 1.8T would be good if lightness is what you're after.
