Head gasket but runs so just a top end rebuild or will TONKS do a deal for the S2 3B engine he has for sale!!!!!
What difference is there between the gearbox on this and a S2 3B do you know?
I'm really impressed with the condition of it will start stripping it down later as head gasket arrived yesterday.

not sure on 3b. id say ratios at the very least. 16v boxes tend to be softer gears.

head gaskets are regulars on 6a/90a it seams. abf gasket all the way if replacing.

Would it mate to the engine and clutch?
OK Head off and I can see where the gasket has given up, will clean and put back together tomorrow or next week.
Do you know the torque settings for the head and is it ??Lb plus 90 decrees then another 45 or something like that?
            Thanks in advance!

you should have shorter ratios on that setup so would be quick with the s2 lump.

HELP.....So I've done the head gasket and all is back together but it wont start.
Timing is right. Fuel pump pump's. Sparks. what else any thoughts? It appears there is no fuel getting to the injectors but it is at the meter head. I put some fuel in the pots and it fired for a moment anyway.
                        Any help appreciated.

if you pull injectors out, try lifting the metering flap and see if fuel comes out..

is it a K Jet or the K jet tronic. EG a mix of mech fuel injection and a lambda sensor?
My brother has a ACE in his coupe and the diagnostics seems to be quite good.

                                are you getting wet plugs?

check for spark. see what you get. kjets usually a good starter.

with kjet having fuels not enough it needs pressure. iirc pump pressure is like 8 bar.
