Thanks for the pointers so far
OK so this is what I was getting.
Fuel to rail but injectors not appearing to inject (plugs were bone dry)!
    Spark ok.
    Fuels pump pumping.
Anyway messed (wiggled wires) and tried suggestions (meter head) and it started.
Now its hot it wont start again
Just before it would not start it would run but not rev, foot flat to the floor and it just hunted???
Is that a fuel pump issue?
The new cam cover is weeping oil so will have to remove and reseal when cold, its also dripped into the plug holes.
1 other question is the thermostat behind the water pump?
    Thanks again

Is there an electronic plug on metering head? Mine used to bog down and stall, untill I went at the plug and it would be fine for days

it also only acted up once warm also.. i believe it was the warm up regulator.
      good luck

the main issues on kjet are pump and metering head.

I think I suffer from weak pump or fuel tank has crap in it. I get the odd mis and its fuel not spark.

getting a good metering head is a lottery. pump can be get easy.

id make sure you got correct timing and idle set. 16v has a throttle screw unlike s2.

also blue/brown temp sensor that feeds ecu.

its a pig to test kjet.

Can you tell me please is the throttle screw on the carb itself?
The blue/brown sensor where is it located?
            Finally thermostat, where is it?
            Thanks

Just thought I would up-date. MOT'ed last week and needed a top mount, blowing exhaust and I forgot to tighten the steering wheel! Result. Sorted issues with K jet and adjust, running great now. Is a nice chassis and really reveeeeeeeeee engine.
Going to try and polish it up over the holidays.
