I have both versions and still dont really understand how you are supposed to use the ABY version, it fits snugly onto the idler pulley to torque the nut, but i dont see how to use it when trying to get the nut off, for that i find the earlier 3B/7A tool easier to use.

Nothing much since early December , but did start work again these last two days , hard to start again in January.
I have one or two things to sort in the engine bay and then the engine can go back in. Looking forward to that.

I suspect they will be, i'll have to call in and do the whole "No, its not an Audi A2" routine

Part number will be handy so thanks for that!

Good to know, but the shame of it.

                      Thanks Eric.

So whats it like driving a "new" one, do you miss having to fix it in the cold and rain

I picked up a timing belt today, tried three different motorfactors before i found one that could source the belt. Just waiting for a few bolts from Audi now...fingers crossed.

                          In this weather.

While it is exquisite, it still needs two new lower controls arms and two front shocks as the driver's one feels a bit off.

And I still want to fit a new bypass valve and maybe a new N75, just to be sure, and given the condition of the car, it warrants new items just to be sure / have it perfect.

Also need to replace the grain of wheat bulb in the outside temperature gauge.

No time to even wash it these days.

Call over when you get yours sorted, and you want to go for a drive. Sorry I couldn't help with parts this time.

                            Audi bits arrived,

The main crank bolt alone was €30, just need to man up and face the weather now...

Good news is were back in business. Compression test was ~12.5bar for each cyl so i guess i dodged a bullet there.

Its so good to be back in a proper car again

Congrats on a) getting the job done and b) having very good compression (13 Bar is the top compression expectation):
