S2 Coupe 'limited edition'

Hi all

Im struggling to find S2 avant so Im broadening my search to include coupes as well.

Im hoping to go and see a 94 aby coupe later this week. The owner says its a limited edition.

I cant find anything on limited editions. Were there any made or does this car just have a few options added?

No limited additions as far as I'm aware, just the MTM RSR version which I have never actually seen a produced model on the road.

Could be that it just has several extras such as rear popout windows, aircon, black headlining, carbon interior trim etc

ABY comes with coil packs instead of distributor, 16" avus wheels 5x112 fitment, 6 speed box, 230hp and 350nm of torque, overboost to 400nm correct me if I'm wrong somebody . Also comes with Ellipsoids instead of standard headlights.

The only thing I can think of that would be 'limited edition' would be rarer lifestyle colours.

I think it has the carbon inlays and a funcky programable sunroof. It also has dark blue paint thats (I understand at least) is slightly 2 tone (opalescent). Its also got a charcoal grey interior, leather seats with charcoal and burgundy inlay (as are the door cards).

I cant envisage the interior I'm sure it will be marmite (love or hate). I haven't got any interior pics unfortunately.

Apart from that its a reasonable mileage and has some history (though Im not sure if its strictly a full history).

It also has 16 inch wheels which Im ok with as I can use them for winter tyres and buy some others for summer.

Im looking forward to seeing it, it'll probably suit and old fart like me:-)

There are a very few (2 IIRC?) Nothelle N300 coupes out there that could be classed as a limited edition I suppose.
In reality, all S2s are limited

I have my eye on that car too. No interior images on ebay, but just assumed it would be black on black... not quite as tempted from your description now!

It does seem to be a lovely car from the description and mileage, though.

Does anybody know this car on here?

How can you tell from the pics?

The owner did say its likely to be needing replacement in a couple of years. Any idea how much they are?

Ignore the BS and look at the car for what it is: a standard S2. No matter what the miles, the brakes and suspension are the weak points, as are rear subframes. Engine needs regular oil and not much else, PAS fluid should be green and not grey, red or black, coolant should be pink, not blue, everything should work. Also check for signs of a replacement windscreen, as this is the cause of most coupe leaks to the front and rear footwells. Boot seals can leak too but that's not as much of a pain. Other than that, it will amost certainly have a boost leak (and the associated 00561 fault code), which is more than likely the intercooler O ring and need the breather system overhauling to stop it leaking oil everywhere...

Turbo back with a 3" DP, 200 CPI sports cat and custom pipework - £1000. Cat back, £500. OE - £2000.

Replacement exhaust frees up a little performance, 3" turbo back is essential if you decide to get more power... and you will

sounds like I need a check list or someone who knows what they are talking about.

Id be using the car as a daily so Im not looking to pep it up in any way, well not for a few years at least.

I dont mind spending some money to get a car in order but as anyone would, Id rather it be in sorted condition and paying a bit more in the first place.

Ill go with an open mind :-)
