I wouldn't touch a return off him. I agree with others suspicions that he may have run it with no oil.
A bad buyer on Motorgeek. Lookout!

Reading other stuff it sounds like he has driveline shunt, has decided its the diff, has fitted your diff and the shunt is still there, and he has therefore decided your diff is faulty.
I have replaced all mounts, diff, prop bearing and still have driveline shunt. There is slight play in all the joints, and possibly gearbox/centre diff?I believed it was the diff that was the problem because I had made a post describing my problem on MG and several people agreed that the diff was blown. does anyone know what else could cause a major thunk from the rear end and huge lag in the driveline?I really have no idea what else could be causing the problemCurrent-2004 Impreza PPP wagon

thanks to everyone who has posted a positive word for me and who have offered ideas to the problem the buyer might have with his coupe drivetrain.
The most likely problem brought up is either drive shaft slop or busted rear diff mounts. Hopefully, this buyer comes to his senses and accepts the fact he misdiagnosed his problem and is now stuck with another rear differential.

I'll vouch for Joe as well. I've been to his place and picked parts up numerous times, and he's even come to my town to drop parts off. Always friendly and accommodating, and I have no doubt about the accurate description of the diff he sent.Comment
