I remember a friend of mine who was taught to ski by a russian instructor. On his first morning, he was taken up the mountain and before they started on how to insert your boot into the bindings, the instructor insisted on them having "breakfast" first. This involved multiple shots of vodka prior to skiing. Needless to say, the instruction was either poor, or not followed very well by drunk newbies. Friend has not skied since ha ha.
