What parts are the same and can be interchanged?

Hi,i need some help advice regarding what parts are interchangable between the C4 S6 Avant and the C4 2.8 30V avant quattro.

I am wondering if most of the suspension, subframes are the same.I would imagine shocks and springs are different as ride height is different but what about the rest of the suspension set up?

Your thoughts/advice and help gratefully accepted

Huh? I had one of the last 1998 C4 A6 avants and it was a 12V, not a 30V. Maybe the Euro/UK ones got the 30V engine but mine was 12V. Are you sure? (Might make a difference with the front sub-frame)

Car registered 7.3.97 and its one of the last. These were sort after when i got it 6 years ago as a cheaper than S6 prices were at the time with the new 30v ACK engine that went into the C5 shape. These ACK,s were fitted for about a year at most inn the C4,s.

I bow down to your far far superior knowledge on the URS4 and URS6 models and all the help you have given which has made some very very interesting reading for me over these last few weeks

I am wondering if the 2.8 30V struts and suspension parts are the same as the S6 not inclusing the shocks and springs obviously. Is prop the same? Dif etc Ie running gear?
The A6 2.8 30v has only done 47,000 miles.I was thinking of keeping all the running gear to use as spare parts as and when needed on my just turned 200,000 mile S6 plus spec Avant. Anybody know?

On the basis that we are talking C4s and not C5s, I offer the following info:

                      1. Front subframe:

4A0399313L is good for the manual transmissions and the CRF, CRG, CRH and CYS automatics (but not the CST automatic)

                      2. Front wheel bearing housing (aka "strut'):

4A0412025AC is good for the AAN and the AEC V8.
However the AAH, ABC, ADR, ACE, ACZ, AEL and ACK use a different housing, the 4A0412025AA. Differences will relate to the mounting of the brake calipers.

                      3. Front hubs:

441501653B for the AAN and AEC
4A0407615G for the AAH, ABC, ADR, ACE, ACZ, AEL and ACK

                      4. Rear suspension bits (e.g. track control arms, trapezoidal arms, etc).

Mostly the same for all of the engines and rear diffs

Rear shocks and springs obviously different

                      5. Rear hubs:

4A0501653D for the AAH, ABC, ACZ, AEJ, AEL and ACK
441501653B for the AAN and AEC

                      6. Front Brakes:

One set up for the AAH, ABC, ACZ, AEJ, AEL and ACK
Another for the AAN and AEC

                      7. Rear Brakes:

AAN and AEC use different rotors and calipers than the other engines

So the quick answer is not much of the 30V V6 running gear will work as spares for a C4 UrS6 or S6 plus.

Many thanks urs4boy very much appreciated.I am aware of the brake situation S6 using hp2 over the lesser brakes of the 2.8 30v but am surprised Audi didnt overlap a lot more than what you have imparted.

As far as i know Audi didn't import a 2.6 c4 quattro. So that kind of negates the question.

Is your ABC 2.6 Avant fwd??
