Reasons you don't drive your car every day

Im similar to steve, not much point driving a few hundred yards to the station so safely tucked up in the garage most of the time. This last 18 months it hasnt gone far as kids have precluded time and money to have the S2 on the road

Would love to drive my S2 everyday but its a bit cranky when the engine is cold and it likes E85 way more than I like to spend time at the gasstation
So driving my S2 to and from work everyday (200km) isnt quite defendable =)

Lots of great responses and can relate to all of them really, my drive would be about 30 minutes long but the only problem is the horrible even traffic and bad drivers, if only there was a safe parking spot at work cause as 4wdrifter said, it does make going to work a bit more exciting

Also I suppose normal cars are so much easier to drive in every sense, just takes that extra effort to drive an S2

Can't relate to you though David, still a good 40 years before I can think about retiring

Lucky for me i dont drive my s4 to work,i am going with my truck evry day on job so i spend 0 euro for fuel

Quite a few reasons now i think of it...

1) Street parking rather than the driveway at home
2) Unreliability - last time i drove it to work it almost stranded me at the side of the M25
3) Cost of fuel and increased maintenance
4) I like my driving license
5) Comfort (far stiffer than the BMW and no ac)
6) The missus hates it (i normally give her a lift)
7) It feels far more special when it gets taken out on the weekends

I cycle to work now (all year round) so the S2 stays safely tucked up in the garage. It goes the 6 miles to work occasionally if the sun is out though. This makes my colleagues laugh as the can't understand why I cycle in the rain, but drive a car in the sunshine!

My S2 seems quite happy to be sat for days and weeks at a time and then being blasted once in a while....

Mines exactly the same i had mine sorn for 3 months over the winter starting the car occasionally every 3-4 weeks and starts 1st time and then when it was legal again took it for a blast bed the brakes in and was no problemo - Happy Days!!

For the past 12 months, because I don't get a parking spot with my current job and paying for parking in the city would cost me over $20 per day, and the bus is only 30mins plus a 10 minute walk.

I do miss driving the S2 every day though, even though I used to only do 20 minute trips each way in traffic..

it has been in boxes for a year, now my partner has finished uni i will get her running and drive untill the bowls of the arab emerites are as baron as the land once was.

I use the A8 for daily for it is (duh) much more comfy than the S2. But the main reason for not using the S2 for commuting is that I do not want to put too much miles on it

Don't drive my S4 nor the 4k to work. I enjoy a Toyota Hiace cramped with tools and 4wd.

Used to drive mine as a daily a few years ago, 25 mile round trip every day, never skipped a beat.
Moved house & job and now I walk a mile to work and the car is in pieces more often than not

Walk 100 yds to work, have to make excuses to use the car, go and buy milk, get a sandwich for lunch etc..
