I am in a rage here

sigpic
"For what you spent on that you could have brought a new car"
BUT I DON'T WANT A NEW CAR!
1995 S2 Avant, Volcano Black
1982 VW Golf Mk1, primer yellow, will be finished one day, maybe.
2003 VW T4 long nose X pack, (has become project)
They go on the hope you just accept the amount and pay. Whenever its time for renewal always go on price comparison sites. You will normally find the insurance company you are with are the cheapest so you need to ring them up and give them a piece of there mind
RIP OFF britain again in action!! Car Insurance premiums has come down in the last 12 months!! Quote at head of paper......Sky Insurance best policy, best Price, best service.HHMMMMM...............More like Best Bulls.it
That is why I always search, every year, and go with the cheapest. All these "premium" brokers are full of *****, I always end up with the Admiral group. They play the same dirty trick with 20-30% higher on the renewal than a quote but at least they're always the cheapest. I'm disappointed with Sky though, I did think they were better than that.
Obviously age has a bearing on it but i was getting silly quotes from footman James the classic car insurer. They charged me £225 on the 80 2.6 avant my first year with them and then when renewal time came wanted £450 on a very limited mileage policy of 2k miles. As they had decided to abuse me, my good will and intelligence i decide i would let them know what i thought. I walked.
I had a look and hey presto found Chaucer (Classic) 1.5K miles a year for £122.98 last year. This year they want the same which is reasonable but i would have thought it might have actually gone down slightly given insurance costs have gone down due to the Police stopping/clamping down on the cash for Crash fraudsters.
Chaucer classic who gave me the quote go thropugh performance direct.co.uk tel 0844 573 6841 Give them a try.
96 URS6 plus speck saloon
96 URS6 plus speck estate
94 2.6 80 Avant
99 2.8 final edition Cabriolet
Sky did the same to me, looked around and saved £150 so dont care if they will match it, shot themselves in the foot by giving a ludicrous renewal quote
Hopefully the guy from Sky will read these and have a word, most peeps aren't as stupid as them.....
Swiftcover just sent me a renewal out for my zafira.. Same price as last year and same price on comparison sites(cheapest by far too, less than half price of the next cheapest) so more than happy with that
As said above they hope you wont bother checking and just let the policy renew. I check every year with as many websites as I can. Unfortunately it seems they're all at the same con. That said, Admiral/elephant my renewal was cheaper than I could get even on their website.
It's a well known fact that car insurance is legalised robbery Thieving scum all of em, Admiral and Swinton have always bowed to my "I got a much better offer than that online scam"
Mate. I have just gone through the same with my daily. R32 golf. Renewal £620 with Hastings direct. Price comparison £315 cheapest for same cover and surprise it was Hastings direct. A quick phone call to them and they offered me insurance for. £306. Just trying it on all the time.
I'm with Elephant for the S2 and it has come down the last two years without me having to whinge. Cannot say the same about my daily. I have had to change insurers each year for about the last 4yrs in order to get the cheapest cover. I tell them I will cancel because they are not competitive and they refuse to budge, so I cancel and renew elsewhere. Very annoying. Never claimed, got years and year NCB but they just stick to their policy of offering no loyalty to the customers that allow them to exist. *********!!!

I had the same sort of renewal recently for similar price, phoned Adrian Flux last week and it came back at £230, more than half the price of renewal, must be getting old...
