So, after being at the back of a 4 car shunt in February I finally got my Coupe fixed. The bonnet was bent and the slam panel ended up about 3mm from the radiator. The insurance company wrote it off as a CAT-C citing it would cost more to fix than it was worth. They offered me several hundred quid more than I originally paid for it and then let me buy it back for £86.....bargain!! It flew through it's VIC test and finally went in this week for the work to be done.

Now:

So, I paid less than £500 to get the bonnet straightened and painted, the slam panel fitted and painted. How then could the first lot reckon nearly £1300??
The best bit was the freshly painted bonnet made the wings look rubbish so the bodyshop painted them for me free of charge
My dilemma now is whether to get the roof done too as it has some lacquer peel......they quoted me a great price but at what point do you stop spending past the value of the car???? I have no intention of selling it anytime soon so I guess that's justification enough, what do you reckon? If I get that done then what next.....doors? bumpers? Before I know it I'll have spent a couple of grand in bits without realising!!
